If the surf camp cannot take place due to the applicable measures within the framework of the Covid-19 pandemic, you can reschedule it to a later date or you will receive a full refund of the course price from us.
If you want to spend intensive time on the water and become independent and safe while kitesurfing, come to our kite camp on the Baltic Sea. You have 4 days to learn all the basics of kitesurfing and train them on the water. Your kite camp special includes a total of 16 course hours over 4 days.
So that you know what to expect in your kite camp, here is an overview of how your kitesurfing week at Salzhaff could look:
1. Camp Day: Safety training "Safety First," flight school with the trainer kite (Flysurfer Viron), kite setup and control
2. Camp Day: Strengthening kite control, relaunch, body drag, first exercises for water start
3. Camp Day: Water start training, board control, riding the first meters
4. Camp Day: Self-rescue training, riding courses, kitesurfing license (optional)
The goal of your kite camp training is to handle the kite safely in the air and on the water. By the end of the camp, you will be riding your first courses!
A full 16 hours of intensive training will surely get you on the board. Your practical skills will range from kite setup to water start and proper riding technique. At the end, you can optionally demonstrate your acquired and extensive knowledge in a theory exam. Upon successful completion, you will receive the VDWS kitesurfing license (additional fee applies).
The area is characterized by its standing depth and the flat water surface, as the protected location hardly produces any waves. Additionally, the Salzhaff consists of freshwater, making it more pleasant to learn kitesurfing than in saltwater.
All our kitesurfing courses take place in the VDWS buddy system. This means that a maximum of four kiters are taught per instructor. Two kite students each pair up as buddies on one kite, taking turns flying the kite, supporting each other, and allowing for welcome breaks in between.
We will fully equip you with the appropriate surfing equipment (kite umbrella, board, harness, wetsuit and boots). You simply pack your bathing suit and a large towel.
The training equipment from our material pool is covered by the kitesurfing school. We accept material damage caused by us during training as a gesture of goodwill. If surfing equipment and equipment is lost, the course participant is liable. We recommend that you also cover kitesurfing with your liability insurance in the future. The VDWS offers the so-called SafetyTool (39€/year), including comprehensive protection for rental equipment worldwide, as well as liability and accident protection.
Our trained, VDWS-licensed kite instructors teach you kiting efficiently, and we only go on the water when the wind conditions are suitable. If this is not the case, we use the time to clarify theoretical questions that have arisen during the course. Additionally, we impart knowledge in a playful manner and in groups, which will not only simplify practical exercises but also prepare you for the VDWS license exam.
Our wind guarantee: Unused hours on the water can be rescheduled for a new appointment or credited towards your next kite course or kite camp. This way, we promote fast and safe learning, allowing you to make the most of your water time.
By the way: If needed, we use a motorboat to provide you with optimal training conditions in any wind direction.
The VDWS Kitesurf License is an internationally recognized license. It documents your current kitesurfing level. With a license, you can rent equipment worldwide and kite at spots where a kite license is mandatory.
VDWS License (including preparation, exam, and kiteboarding license): €40
VDWS Kiteboarding Work- and Stylebook: €15
There is no clear age limit for kitesurfing, as children develop very differently both physically and mentally during this phase of life. Your child should be able to concentrate and engage in sports for an hour. In general, we recommend a minimum age of 15 years and a minimum weight of 55 kg. For younger children who want to learn kitesurfing, we offer private kitesurfing lessons. Important: If you are under 18 years old and traveling without your parents, please bring an informal consent form from your parents.
We recommend that you pack a water bottle and a small snack (for example, a bar) for some energy. On-site at the campsite, you can relax after your training at the fish stall with the most delicious smoked fish and cool drinks right by the water, dine at the beautiful Seaside Pepelow restaurant with a view of the lagoon, or visit the beach bar (small snacks, coffee, and cocktails) in the San Pepelone holiday village. Super delicious soft ice cream from Ilka Eis is available directly opposite the surf school, as well as a small supermarket for daily needs.
After your kite camp, it's time for you to keep practicing! You can simply borrow equipment from your kitesurfing school in Pepelow or get advice directly from us for your own equipment. And you're back on the water. We recommend that you train yourself during kitesurf coaching, with the certainty that your kite instructor is close to you. We'll help you get started and land, answer any questions you may have and always keep an eye on you for 2 hours on the water. If you want to get ahead with big jumps, this is Private kitesurfing lesson Made just for you. You have a kite instructor just for yourself and so you can make targeted and safe progress.
A surfing voucher is a brilliant gift idea, as a surfing course is a special experience, with a high fun factor amidst nature and its elements. Of course, the voucher can also be booked for two people or for a group. You can choose between a course voucher and a value voucher.
In our kitesurfing school, for example, there is no “supervised kiting” without a kite instructor standing by your side, helping you and watching you on the water (see Kitesurf Coaching. Booking a kite course or a kite camp with us means: Real lessons with experienced instructors every day and all surfing equipment included!
